الوقت الظاهر هو مدة الفترة الامتحانية وليس مدة الامتحان، حيث أن مدة الامتحان تعتمد على عدد ساعات المقرر (الوحدات)، بحيث المقرر الذي عدد ساعاته ثمانية تكون مدة امتحانه ثلاث ساعات، والمقرر الذي عدد ساعاته 3 أو 4 تكون مدة امتحانه ساعتين فقط
